Programme P-04 · Legum Impact Network

Expertise doesn't stay in the boardroom either.

Legum Impact Network mobilises senior lawyers, regulators, compliance officers, policy researchers and academics to volunteer their expertise directly into Legum's impact work. Members contribute research for Healing Justice, casework for Access to Justice, and policy input for the Youth Network, beginning with the professional community inside Dominion City and built to grow beyond it.

The model

Three threads, one network.

Most volunteer networks ask for time. Legum Impact Network asks for expertise, matched deliberately to a real need inside one of the other three programmes. Membership is a working relationship between a professional and a project, held to the same implementation discipline that runs through the rest of Legum.

Casework and research support

Legal research, policy analysis and regulatory review contributed directly to Healing Justice and Access to Justice matters, adding depth that a paralegal or Help Center desk cannot provide alone.

Regulatory and policy intelligence

Members track developments relevant to access-to-justice reform, data protection and financial inclusion policy, feeding research that the Youth Network and Healing Justice can act on.

Mentorship

Senior members mentor paralegals, Youth Network student leaders and early-career professionals, building the next tier of contributors rather than only delivering the current one.

Founding population

Starting with Dominion City.

Legum Impact Network's founding members are drawn from the professional community inside Dominion City Church, a large, organised network of working lawyers, compliance officers, regulators and policy professionals across more than 30 cities and towns in Nigeria and six other countries. It is a values-aligned population that already understands structured programmes, mentorship and tiered progression.

Why this population. Access to justice and regulatory work in Africa is held back less by a shortage of qualified professionals than by the absence of a structure that lets their expertise travel beyond their day job. Dominion City's professional community gives Legum Impact Network a fast, trusted way to test that structure before opening it more widely.

Complementary programme

Not the same programme as the Legum Fellowship.

The Legum Fellowship is a 16-week, career-track training programme for people building a career in digital assets and compliance, run by the Legum Compliance Institute. Legum Impact Network is different: it is for professionals who already have the expertise and channels that expertise into Legum's impact work rather than into career training. A Fellowship graduate is a natural future Impact Network member; the two programmes are complementary, not overlapping.

Membership

A working relationship, not a mailing list.

Membership is selective and earned. Every member is matched to real project work, not added to a general list. Admission requires an application, two professional references, and a short conflict-of-interest declaration. Active regulators may join in a non-conflicted advisory capacity only and are never matched to a matter touching their own regulator's jurisdiction.

Community Member

Vetted professional, onboarded and matched to a first project on request.

Associate

A contributor with at least one completed contribution, eligible for ongoing project matching and correspondent roles.

Senior Advisor

A recognised senior contributor who mentors other members and advises on project selection.

Governance

Built for trust and accountability.

Legum Impact Network is governed by a dedicated Code of Conduct, a Conflict of Interest Policy, and a Confidentiality Policy. Projects involving young people or vulnerable individuals follow the same safeguarding framework that governs every programme on this site.

Every programme on this site operates under a documented safeguarding framework. Beneficiary stories are shared only with informed consent, reviewed against our safeguarding standards before publication. Read our safeguarding commitment

Measurement

Impact model applied.

Individuals, communities, institutions, systems. In the Impact Network, that means a member's research brief informing an Access to Justice case, a Healing Justice partner adopting a legal review process a member designed, and a policy note shaping the position the Youth Network takes into a government consultation.
